We are the 4th year college students of STI College of Meycauayan who were assigned to go to some of the Historical Places in Bulacan for our project in Introduction to Arts. We have been to two churches in Bulacan, the San Pascual de Baylon Church and the Iglesia ni Cristo in Obando Bulacan. And our last destination is the historical house of Marcelo H. Del Pilar in Bulakan, Bulacan. Kahit baha sa Obando at maulan ay bumyahe pa rin kami. Pero kahit ganon ay masaya naman kasi marami kaming natutnan.

Dahil baha, sumakay kami ng pedicab para makapunta dito. Here are some of the information and pictures that we got from our Trip.

The Obando Church

San Pascual de Baylon Parish Church

- One of the oldest and most historic churches in the Philippines. 

-  Located at the town of Obando in the province of Bulacan, on the island of Luzon.

- Founded by Franciscan missionaries, under the Spanish Flag.

- Its façade had been described as similar to that of the church of Marilao Bulacan. 

 

The Church was damaged during the Liberation of 1945. The Church and Convent were rebuilt after 2 years under Father Marcos Punzal and continued by Father Rome Fernandez.

- The edifice is composed of windows and flat columns, and has a pediment with a niche and two round windows at the sides. 

- The façade is also flanked by an octagonal belltower. Connected to its structure is the Colegio de San Pascual De Baylon.

- The altar of the church is believed to be gilded with silver

- Ang Fiesta ng obando ay ginaganap tuwing May 17 hanggang 19 in honor of San Pascual de Baylon, Santa Clara and Our Lady of Salambao.
- Dito sa simbahang ito sumasayaw ang mga mag asawang hindi magkaroon ng anak

Iglesia ni Cristo ng Obando Bulacan

- A Christian denomination religion that originated in the Philippines in 1914 under founder Felix Manalo

- By the time of his death in 1963, the Iglesia ni Cristo had become a nation-wide church with 1,250 local chapels, and 35 large concrete cathedrals

- His son Erano Manalo became the next church leader and lead a campaign to grow and internationalize the church until his death on August 31, 2009,whereupon his son,Eduardo V. Manalo, succeeded him as executive minister.

Walang samba nung nagpunta kami kaya hindi kami pinayagang pumasok sa loob ng simbahan. Sa labas lang kami pinayagang kumuha ng mga litrato.

 

Marcelo H. Del Pilar Shrine

Sa lahat ng aming pinuntahan, ito ang aming pinaka nagustuhan. dahil maganda ito. Sa labas makikita ang malaking sculpture ni Marcelo H. Del Pilar

Sa bandang kanan ang bahay ni Marcelo. At sa kaliwa naman ay ang mga libingan ng kamag- anak ni Marcelo

In this historical landmark is Marcelo's final resting place that was transferred from the mausoleum of the Veterans of the Philippine Revolution located in the North Cementery.

Marcelo Hilario del Pilar y Gatmaitán (August 30, 1850 – July 4, 1896) 

- Known by his pen name Plaridel 

-  A Filipino writer, lawyer, and journalist

- He was the second and last editor of the La Solidaridad

Ang tahanan ni Marcelo sa Bulakan, Bulacan noong hindi pa ito nasusunog. Sabi sa amin ng namamahala sa bahay ay nasunog daw ito noon at wala ng natira sa mga kagamitan.

 Si Anita Del Pilar noong ikinasal kay Vicente Maraigan noong Mayo 15, 1912

Larawan ni Marciana H. Del Pilar, butihing kabiyak ng dibdib ni Gat Marcelo H. Del Pilar, kapiling ang kanyang mga anak na sina Sofia at Anita , at anim na mga supling ng huli. Ang larawang ito ay nalathala sa Philippine Free Press noong Agosto 31, 1929
